For practical purposes we have divided the construction and design activities. Terra Sylva construction is our building enterprise, where we also offer construction services to other architects. Studio Circle Growth is the design studio.

Though separate these two entities form an indivisible whole. Intertwined and interdependent, the construction activities create the referential space for design ideas to unfold and emerge, while the realm of design taps into the creative desire to push the boundaries of ecological architecture. The name Circle Growth denotes the circular flux of collaboration which precedes all designed and built works, and a stress on the importance of the inherent growth pertaining to all activity of life. The name Terra Sylva suggests that the most fundamental ecological materials are those found in the immediate vicinity of the site - such as wood and earth.

Thus the theoretical framerworks of our philosophy are inspired by Circlular Economy, Deep Ecology, and Phenomenology. Yet craftsmanship and construction is the beating heart of our design aspirations. Even during construction, the vista of the final product gradually emerges, and the power of the presence of that which unfolds grounds us in the act of building.

We ask, is it possible to anticipate the finished product from the drawing board? Does the architect need to return to the role of craftsman and sculptor to truly unravel the potential of the sensual realm of the built reality?

What happens when you slow down architecture to its original roots in construction - becoming a physical part of the construction process, a participant of the poetry of construction. To this end we propose an alternative to the fast pace, profit driven model of construction present today, something we are calling “slow architecture”. An architecture that is not slow in and of itself, but one that is witnessed in the entirety of its unfolding within the act of construction itself

Naše práce usiluje o racionální a smyslové propojení řemesla a designu, jehož výsledkem jsou unikátní objekty a atmosférická prostředí šitá na míru konkrétním lidem, účelům a kontextům. V nejširším smyslu naše práce aspiruje ke kulturní dialektice mezi přírodou a lidstvem.

Pro praktické účely jsme rozdělili stavební a projekční činnost. Terra Sylva s.r.o. je naše stavební firma, kde nabízíme stavební služby i dalším architektům. Studio Circle Growth je designové studio.

I když jsou tyto dvě entity odděleny, tvoří nedělitelný celek. Stavební aktivity, propojené a zároveň na sobě vzájemně závislé, vytvářejí referenční prostor pro vznik a rozvíjení nových nápadů, zatímco oblast designu otevírá prostor pro kreativní touhu posouvat hranice ekologické architektury. Název Circle Growth označuje kruhový tok spolupráce, který předchází všem projektovaným a realizovaným dílům, a zdůraznění důležitosti přirozeného růstu, který se vztahuje ke všem aktivitám života. Název Terra Sylva napovídá, že nejzásadnějšími ekologickými materiály jsou ty, které se nacházejí v bezprostřední blízkosti lokality – jako dřevo a hlína.

Teoretické rámce naší filozofie jsou tedy inspirovány cirkulární ekonomikou, hlubinnou ekologií a fenomenologií. Přesto je řemeslo a stavitesltví bijícim srdcem našich designových aspirací. Již během stavby se postupně vynořuje pohled na výsledný produkt a síla přítomnosti toho, co se odvíjí, nás uzemňuje v aktu stavby.

Ptáme se, je možné předvídat hotový výrobek z rýsovacího prkna? Potřebuje se architekt vrátit ke svým nástrojům a fyzické roli řemeslníka a sochaře, aby skutečně odhalil potenciál smyslné říše postavené reality?

Co se stane, když zpomalíme architekturu k jejím původním kořenům ve výstavbě, a staneme se tak fyzickou součástí stavebního procesu - účastníkem poezie výstavby. Za tímto účelem navrhujeme alternativu k dnešnímu rychlému a ziskově orientovanému modelu výstavby, něčemu, čemu říkáme „pomalá architektura“. Architektura, která není sama o sobě pomalá, ale kterou vnímáme v celistovsti jejího budování skrz samostný akt výstavby.
